SEASON REVIEW – 2007/2008
  GOALKEEPERS

  SHAY GIVEN

Age: 32
Contract Expiry: 2011

Played: 24 Goals: 0 Yellow Cards: 0 Red Cards: 0

Sadly another season dogged by injury for the Irish International, but whilst he was on the pitch he again showed his true class by putting in some tremendous performances.

Injuries and the form of his understudy will have added some pressure on Given for next season, but he is a genuine quality goalkeeper, and having a fully fit Shay Given for pre-season will be a massive boost to Kevin Keegan.

  STEPHEN HARPER

Age: 33
Contract Expiry: 2009

Played: 19(2) Goals: 0 Yellow Cards: 0 Red Cards: 0

The loyalty and commitment of Steve Harper was rewarded this season, with the perennial understudy playing the lead role for long parts of the season.

His performances in the first team reinforced his quality to play in the Premiership, proving that we are extremely lucky to have two top class experienced goalkeepers on our books.

However, inevitable those performances have again alerted other clubs in the Premiership to his ability, with rumours already surfacing of interest from Liverpool.

As his contract only has 1 year left on it, this again could be a big summer for Harper who may be tempted to leave, but the lure of being part of the Keegan revolution will also be massive.

  FRASER FORESTER

Age: 20
Contract Expiry: 2010

Played: 0 Goals: 0 Yellow Cards: 0 Red Cards: 0

The local lad was rewarded with a new contract following a string of excellent performances in the reveres, and with injuries forcing him to spend some time on the first team bench.  This will all have contributed to the youngsters learning.

  TIM KRUL

Age: 20
Contract Expiry: 2011

Played: 22 Goals: 0 Yellow Cards: 0 Red Cards: 0
(On loan at Falkirk)

This season saw the Dutch U21 international given the opportunity of first team football out on loan in the SPL for Falkirk.

With Falkirk having a difficult season, the experience for Krul will have been vast.  Sadly, a serious shoulder injury ended his season prematurely, but he will be looking to pre-season to comeback to fight for the number 3 spot with Forester.
