  Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder said
"We've conceded two bad goals. Individual mistakes have cost us - we were in the position to take three points, but we've taken nothing. The players concerned have held up their hands, but we now have to pick up ourselves and look forward to Thursday."

Pieman's Leazes View

We made a crap team look slightly better than wot we are.  Is that crap as well?

How to start this?  Least the weather was nice....erm....

Reet!  The first half was just forgettable (unless your name is Jimmy Bullard).  The only high points were some dodgy decisions by the ref: Duff getting pushed in the back was a blatant foul,  Fulham took a throw in that curved back out of play so the ref let them take it again and Emre was kicked up a height all half ; Jimmy Bullard's knee turning to mush after a collision with Parker, which looked fairly innocuous at first; and an absolutely belting fight between 5 or 6 Toon supporters that resulted in the polis diving in and marshals diving in and blood and snot all over and lasted about 10 mins.  The game itself was pretty dire.

The second half started the same, picked up a bit and then sorta turned horribly wrong.  It was the usual yawn-a-thon till Emre whipped in a belting cross for Parker nip in and head it into the far corner. The match then continued in it usual boring fashion.   Bocanegra was brought on Fulham. Martins was subbed off for Rossi, and Parker hobbled off to be replaced by Butt.  Then it hit the fan with 10 mins to go.  The ball was on the left side with Routledge, he ran past Ramage and whipped the ball into the box where McBride slotted it home. 5 mins later Bocanegra made it two to the visitors, and for the first time that game the Fulham supporters, all 15 of them, could be heard.  The final whistle couldn't come soon enuff.  Given made 2 outstanding saves then thankfully it was over.  What a shite match.

The Toon

Given –     The first thing he had to do all game was pick the ball out the net.

Carr –        Made some forward runs but was sluggish getting back

Bramble – Didn't have a bad game, just didn't have a good one either

Moore –     See Bramble.

Ramage – Should have stayed at home.

Duff –        Ran round like a headless chicken again.

Parker –     A rock in the centre of midfield.  Scored a great goal. Thank goodness for Scott Parker

Emre –       Kicked all over first half.  Didn't much second.  Should have had a shot on goal with the freekick at the end but didn't.

Zog –         Made some good runs but was lacking in the final ball in.

Shovel –    Was Shovel.  Cannot head.  Can head. Cannot pass. Can pass. Frustrating to watch.

Martins –    Lightening quick. Think he found the game a bit physical at times. Not used to the high ball in.

Subs

Rossi –       Did nowt

Butt –         Also did nowt.

St James' man of the match: Parker

My motm: Parker

The oppo

They where shit and we made them look good.

The oppo fans.

Two bus loads.  Silent till the last 10 mins.

Ref –          Appalling. A game of bad decisions. He knew he had to blow the whistle to start and end both halves tho. 2 out of 10
