- Michael Owen (knee), as we know, is out till next year with the injury he picked up at the World Cup.
- Shay Given (abdomen) is back in training but is a week off returning.
- Oba Martins (hamstring) is out for 1 more week
- Kieron Dyer (eye) should be back next week after his freak accident.
- Shola Ameobi (hip) is now confirmed being out for the season

My thoughts:

With our league form a disgrace, another welcome cup game comes tonight against Watford. In the desperate attempt to find anything positive, the fact is we've played 9, won 7, drew 2 and lost 0 in cup games this season.

None of us want any Newcastle United team to lose regardless of how bad we feel at the moment, so lets get behind the lads, and keep our fingers crossed that the cup success continues.
