Barclays Premiership
- Newcastle Utd 3v1 Tottenham Hotspur
Saturday 1st April 2006
A thoroughly deserved win.
To be honest with y's I thought it was going to be one of those games,
especially after the Liverpool, Chelski and Charlton results, and
Parkers illness; but it proved to be nowt to worry about.
First goal in the first minute was a well worked with some
brilliant passes, great runs and some crafty dummies, finished by a
player who was declared man of the match.
Spurs came back at us.
Anton Lennon causing all kinds of problems down out right, skinning Carr
to provide Robbie Keane with an easy header in. After that it was all
one way traffic with Spurs looking like they'd ran out of ideas.
Being a Toon supporter gives you plenty of oppotunity to spot what a
shite defence looks like, and todays belonged to The Cockneys. It was
incapable of dealing with the simplest of balls. Lee Young-Pyo and
Dawson looking really dodgy all game, the later getting sent off for a
second bookable.

Spurs midfield,
understandibly, lost faith with it's defence and Robinson, who had a
real moo of a game; was a bit hesitant to move forward. Davids did show
some glimmers of his class but it wasn't enuff. Lennon had a fairly easy
time against Carr, but apart from providing the cross for Keanes,
couldn't make his advantage tell. Course their midfield wasn't help by
the Toon chanting 'What's the score gay boy?' and 'Y can shove y' mobile
phone up your arse at Jenas, who missed a sitter near the end of the
game and was pish all game.
Apart from the goal,
Spurs front two were ineffective. Robbie Keane spent most of the game
offside, but he got a good round of applause off the Toon for a bit of
gentlemanly conduct. The Egyptian carpet sales man did nowt except
whinge at the ref. Tottenham as a whole did not play like a team that
was forth in the league. They where a bit kack.
Quick run down of the Toon players...
Given - Another solid performance, tho his
blushes where saved by the appalling finishing of Jenas.
Carr - Spurs 12th man. Had a terrible game.
Skinned by Lennon for their goal. Couldn't pass, tackle or do anything
right. People say he's not match fit, but that can only allow for so
much.
Moore - Didn't do much all game, didn't have to
really. Tended to make a bit of a meal of it when called into action
like. Thankfully Spurs front two where off their game
Ramage - Didn't do much all game, didn't have to
really.Tended to make a bit of a meal of it when called into action
like. Thankfully Spurs front two where off their game
Elliott - Had a sound game. Stopped everything that
Spurs tried to throw down that side, and y couldn't ask for more.
Solano - A fairly quiet game, caused mainly by
having to be on hand to tidy up after Carr.
His crossing was up to the usual high standard though.
Bowyer - Who needs Scott Parker. Had a great game.
Run his heart out from start to to finish. Scored. And made Jena's and
David's life hell in the centre of the park. Got the man of the match.
Emre - Another class performance. Hope he doesn't go
in the summer cause we'll miss him. Zogs - Seemed
to drift in and out the game, but was there when it counted.
Shearer - Spurs has to start worrying about their
defence after this game. Here a bloke who's playing his last season and
he ran them ragged. Made Spurs defence look shit. Scored a well taken
pen. Shovel - We started thinking that Fat Freddy
had gotten hold of a time machine, went back 20 years and brought back
Pele. Had a magic game. Probably the best game I've seen Shov play. It's
not a Toon match without being able to have a dig at some thing he'd
done, but today the bloke was class. Scored a goal that required a lot
of bottle, what with Robinson running out.
My man of the match.
Subs. Clark - Came on
for Emre, and showed how poor he was in comparison.
Faye - There's times I get the urge to run on the
pitch and give him a slap. He just needs to wake up and take note wots
going on round him. He just seemed to be in a daze most the time.
Chops - Came on near the end. Didn't get a chance to
do out.
