PIEMAN'S LEAZES VIEW

Barclays Premiership - Newcastle Utd 3v1 Bolton Saturday 4th March 2006

Given - Didn't have much to do to tell y' the truth (except pick the ball out the back of the net)

Babayaro - In a word: Class. The best game I've seen him play for the toon. Kept Giannakopoulos in his back pocket, linked well with Charlie and made some great forward runs.

Boumsong - Another solid performance. He's getting better and better. The confidence he's gaining in his own game is rubbing off on the midfield which seems happier to push further forward knowing the Boominator will be backing them up.

Elliott - Starting to settle down well at the back with Boom. Let's hope it's enuff to keep Tightarse off the team sheet.

Ramage - Looked ok....until Giannakopoulos realised he was getting nowhere agains Baba and swapped sides. Ramage really struggled after that, forcing Nobby back to help he him, thus killing off our attack down the right side. Hurry back Carr. I can se e Ronaldo or Giggs murdering us down that side this weekend.

N'Zogbia - Ran Boltons left back ragged. Great cross into the box for Shearers goal.

Parker - Owned midfield. Some great tackles. No messing when it came to playing the ball forward, and kept it simple. Made Gary Speed look old. Nearly got me man of the match.

Emre -  delight to watch. Terrifies the opposition when he runs at them.

Solano -  goal scoring machine with a superb free kick. If he had the same pace he had 4 years ago... Forced to play more defencive in the last 20 mins.

Ameobi - What the f... Something about playing with Shearer is making him a bit shit. Good at wafting thin air with his leg, and jumping for headers when the balls on the deck. Na....he's not that bad. He got a goal, if he'd missed he'd have been linched on the way out the ground.

Shearer - Mixed it up with center of Boltons defence. Scored a goal that made Jaaskelainen look a bit of a plonker. Got a yellow card, but nobody knows why.

Man of the match: Glenn Roeder. For installing confidence in his players, Keeping us supporters happy, and he waved when we started chanting "Roeder, give us a wave" which probably got the biggest cheer all afternoon.
