  Match Report:

Sadly last night it took only 12 minutes for my confidence to go and the fear of the inevitable to return with a big bang!

A Wayne Rooney lead Man Utd ran riot in the first half of our match at Old Trafford with 2 goals in the first 12 minutes which meant the game was effectively over.

A Peter Ramage shocker gifted Rooney his first goal after 8 minutes when a crazy backpass was way short and let Rooney throw on goal to score past Shay Given. Then the striker again out muscled Ramage to score his second after 12 minutes leaving Newcastle reeling. Thankfully we hung on till half time and didn't get murdered like at one stage we could have.

The second was a bit better and a more closer game but Man Utd still threatened to catch us on the break as we chased the game but some good saves from Shay Given and a block off Robbie Elliott kept the score down.

So the same story on the field for Newcastle United at Old Trafford and it certainly sounded like the same old story off the field also. Through the TV you could clearly hear the travelling Toon Army in full voice for most of the game and the 60,000 muppets were quiet as usual apart from when they put down their prawn sarnies to clap the 2 goals.

A game best forgotten I reckon but it's slightly worrying that up against our first real decent opponents under Roeder and we looked like we've still got a long way to go. Let's hope our confidence hasn't been dented too much for Liverpool at home on this Sunday night.
